Meet The Owner
Dr. Jennifer Tyra helps women feel amazing so they can confidently conquer their day without pain, stiffness, or even pelvic problems (like leaking or painful sex).
Jen believes that women are strong and giving, but often sacrifice so much out of love that they neglect their own needs. Jen has a passion for nurturing these women, revitalizing their energy levels, and helping them return to the pain-free life they deserve.
As a self-described “average athlete” Jen has always been interested in treating general orthopedics and running injuries- however she became interested in women’s health after finding herself in need of pelvic floor therapy.
Jen says, “I experienced pelvic pain for about a year and a half. I kept thinking I could figure it out and that it would get better, but it never did. My emotions fluctuated all over the place. I felt frustration, loneliness, detachment, and anger.
When I realized how badly it was affecting myself and my marriage, I knew it was time to seek help. It was hard. I felt embarrassed. I didn’t want to admit that I was a physical therapist who needed help with such a sensitive issue.
It’s ironic now that I can look back and wish I hadn’t taken so long to get pelvic floor therapy because it changed my life for good. I made a mistake in waiting too long, and now I want to help other women who are facing the same issues.
I want to create a safe environment for women to know that they are not alone, and that there is help. You don’t have to live with your pain. You were made for more.”
Jen graduated with a BS in Biology and Global Health from Mercer University in Macon, GA. She then went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Georgia State University.
Jen completed her Pilates Mat, Reformer, and Tower training from PHI in Pittsburgh, PA. She teaches Private Pilates sessions and small Pilates Classes here at the clinic. She identifies as a life-long learner and loves deepening her Physical Therapy knowledge with different continuing education courses.
